The problem our client presented was simple.
Replace the SCR power controller we’re using from another company. Their reason? The price of their existing control had skyrocketed, shrinking their product margin and threatening their competitive market position.
Their existing control was a vintage design that used component-intensive analog circuitry. Some of those components were also very expensive.
So we redesigned the controller using high performance DSP controllers, drastically reducing both the number for the components and eliminating analog component drift.
Plus, the use of digital technology eliminated some calibration procedures, delivered a more accurate control and offered greater control versatility through firmware algorithms.
